Bunt is one of the players in line for selection in next year’s Indoor Hockey World Cup side, so the tour offers her an ideal chance to stake her claim.
She is already in the frame to contest the tournament as a member of the current Australian team, but earlier this month Bunt’s chances were further increased.
After helping NSW take out the Open Women’s Indoor Australian Championship, she was named in the 40-player World Cup squad.
It is a squad that will be trimmed to the final team of 12 following a three-day camp in Canberra mid-year.
“The depth of talent in this squad is stronger than ever and ensures that there will be fierce competition for a place in the team for the World Cup,” head coach Stewart Fenton said.
“The skill level, athleticism and the versatility of the players in this squad will give us the best possible opportunity for success, whilst the quality of the younger players coming through ensures a bright future for indoor hockey in Australia.”
The squad includes 10 players who took part in the successful 2015 Indoor World Cup campaign, but Bunt is a strong contender.
In the outdoor version of the game she is a mainstay of the NSW Arrows Australian Hockey League team, while in November last year she made her Hockeyroos debut in a series against India.
Bunt was excited ahead of the European Tour, where the Australians will face some tough opposition.
“We play like Holland, Germany and we play a lot of European club teams and things like that,” she said.
