Swap meet committee member Mark Gillman said the attendance was similar to previous years and the feedback for the event had been positive.
“It has been a good swap meet; everyone seems to be happy with it,” he said.
Stallholders at the meet offered everything from car parts and tools to children’s toys and collectibles.
Despite the activity on at Mount Panorama, Mr Gillman said “two different crowds” made sure attendance was strong.
“They are your car fans, these people here are your car part enthusiasts,” he said.
People came from far and wide to enjoy the event, from parts of the Central West to out of state.
Many patrons make the pilgrimage year after year.
“I think it is a bit of a lifestyle because you hear people say they’ll be at the swap meet and then next week they’ll be at Newbridge [for another swap meet],” Mr Gillman said.
“So when you hear people talk it sounds like they follow a circuit.”
When asked what it is about the swap meet that has kept it going for 30 years, Mr Gillman said it has a lot to do with continued patronage.
Although it is well advertised, people remember the event is always on the first weekend in February.
“It has been going this long because people keep returning,” Mr Gillman said.
