He said the weather was perfect for competition.
The feedback from competitors is they absolutely love it. I’ve been down on the finish line and there have been lots of whoops and swearing and eyes popping out of their head.

“We had a few spots of rain over the weekend but it dried out really quickly. On Friday it actually worked in our favour because it cooled down the track a bit.
Mr Hopkin said the feedback from competitors was they absolutely loved competing at the Mount.
“I’ve been down on the finish line and there have been lots of whoops and swearing and eyes popping out of their head; the competitors can’t believe they’ve just done it.”
Mr Hopkin said there was also good support from spectators.
“There’s been a lot of interest, more this year then any other year I’ve seen, it’s been really really good, cars have been streaming up here all day.
“We’ve also had great support from locals, there’s been a really good vibe up here the whole weekend.
“People have come up here for a look and have been awe struck; it is awesome,” he said.
Mr Hopkin said planning is underway for next year.
He said the event would definitely be back in Bathurst.
Having wound up the competition, Mr Hopkin said competitors spent yesterday afternoon loading up the hay bales from the event, which are being donated to farmers affected by bushfires.
