On Saturday competitors will take on the opening round at The Esses before returning the next day to contest the Mountain Straight climb.
It’s an exciting weekend of action for BLCC president Mick Tuckey and the event organisers, who have been overwhelmed by the entry numbers.
”We have 93 drivers for both days. We actually had to turn some drivers away because we were full,” he said.
“It’s a great feeling to see so many people coming. The club has a great reputation for the quality of events that we put on.
“There will certainly be a few drivers there for the first time but there’s likely to be some familiar faces there too. They take the opportunity to drive on Mount Panorama whenever they can.”
The three competitors in the Formula Libre over 2000cc category are likely to battle it out for the overall victory – Malcolm Oastler (OMS 28), Ron Hay (Synergy Dallara) and Doug Barry (Lola T8750 F3000).
The Hill Climb will bringing in a variety of veiches, from improved production favourites like the Nissan Skyline and Holden Monaro through to electric vehicles.
Saturday night will also see the presentations take place for the previous season of the NSW Hill Climb Championship. The presentations are set to start around 5.30pm at the BLCC.
