On Saturday night the finals in the two-year-old Gold Crown and Gold Tiara series will be contested, as well as the Gold Bracelet and Gold Chalice three-year-old deciders.
Bathurst district trainers and drivers are well represented across the rich meeting, with Bernie Hewitt, Matt Rue, Chris and Anthony Frisby plus Steve, Amanda, Josh and Mitch Turnbull all chasing success.
Between them they have 20 horses chasing a Group win, and of those, nine are linked to the Turnbull clan.
The Turnbulls have had some luck already with Quinzel (Gold Tiara), Atomic Red (Gold Chalice) and Maximus Red (Gold Crown) all drawing barrier one.
“He’s a real honest little fella, he hadn’t had a lot of luck in his first two starts, but he went good [in his heat],” Steve Turnbull said of Maximus Red.
Racing starts at 6.17pm.
