Club officials said it has been a long time since Eglinton have fielded a team at the highest level in Bathurst District Football.
Eglinton coach Ian Crook said the team had come over from Macquarie United.
“Macquarie told us they no longer wanted us. It was disappointing because the girls had played their whole career there,” he said.
“There would’ve been over 100 years of experience between them.”
Club officials were excited to take on the new team, as the team would be able to provide a pathway for its women’s juniors.
The game was played in hot conditions, with the game 0-all at half-time.
