Two models of Mount Panorama-Wahluu made entirely out of LEGO bricks will be on display at the Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum over the school holidays
One model is of the top of the mountain while the other is a replica of Pit Straight.
BRAG commissioned the models from Ryan “The Brickman” McNaught, one of only 14 LEGO-certified professionals in the world and the only one in the southern hemisphere.
The models took several weeks to create and within them are 18 stories from Mount Panorama’s history, inspired by photographs, track diagrams and local details.
Beneath the models is a pit of LEGO bricks that young visitors to the museum can use to build their own models.
The exhibition will also feature some of the photographs that the models were created from.
Public programs officer Penny Packham said she was thrilled to have this successful exhibition come to the museum.
“As a science museum, we are always looking for ways to encourage visitors to engage in science, technology and design in a hands-on way,” she said.

“The exhibition has also given us an opportunity to tell the story of the geology of Mount Panorama.
“There is a common myth that Mount Panorama was once a volcano.
“There is no geological evidence of this.”
The LEGO exhibition is free with museum entry, however, if people want to visit this exhibition only the cost is $5 per child, per day to play.
Bookings can be made for groups of 10 or more.
All children must be accompanied by an adult while visiting and playing with the LEGO exhibition.
The exhibition will be on display throughout the school holidays, including the Easter public holidays, and through to July 24.
People are encouraged to take photos of their LEGO creations and post them on social media with the #BathurstLEGO hashtag.
