An entry statement usually appears at the beginning or border of a town or region that introduces or welcomes visitors to the area.
It can have many purposes – for information, for location and also for tourism, showcasing features within the region being entered.
Council’s planned entrance statement will be located on the Great Western Highway, and mayor Graeme Hanger said it should be creative and encapsulate something symbolic about the city or region.
“Our region has many unique features and we’d like to hear what our residents and community feel is important to be represented,” he said
dsb Landscape Architects have been engaged to develop three concept design options for the new entrance statement.
A short community survey has been developed for people to have a say.
There will also be a community forum held in the Bathurst Memorial Entertainment Centre conference room on Tuesday, August 8 at 5.30pm.
