One of them is yellow.
Wagga residents were assured water was safe to drink after it turned a murky hue across the city.
Riverina Water said anyone with damaged clothes after washing in dirty water, should call the office to discuss compensation.
It follows a mains break on Tuesday.
Riverina Water’s engineering director Bede Spannagle said the break, on the corner of Truscott Drive and Ashmont Avenue on Tuesday, caused mud and iron deposits to run from the West Wagga treatment plant into houses.
He said the only problem was the colour, that would be flushed out in time.
“There’s nothing wrong with the water,” Mr Spannagle said.
“It’s perfectly okay to drink.”
Anyone with concerns can call Riverina Water on (02) 6922 0608.
