The store was presented with the NSW Fairness and Integrity Award, which it received as it has demonstrated that it acts with sensitivity and embraces the highest standards.
Team members have also cemented their place in the community, and always behave with respect and social responsibility.
Kelso’s store is lead by franchisees Kasi Kolahalam, Peter Nath and Paul Stevens.
Mr Nath said that the team was very focused on the local community and was thrilled to be recognised for that.
“We’ve enjoyed developing relationships with our customers since our store opened and we’re really proud to be local and serve the needs of the Kelso community,” he said.
Mr Stevens agreed that the community involvement of the store was a big part of why it had been so successful since opening two years ago.
“I think it is going well and it is because we are lucky to be in a great community,” he said.
“We are lucky to have some real great local staff.”
Angus McKay, 7-Eleven’s CEO, said the awards celebrate the mutual commitment 7-Eleven, its franchisees and store managers have to the company’s values.
He congratulated all those recognised in the Spirit Awards.
“Our values are at the heart of who we are, and how we strive to conduct ourselves in operating our businesses,” Mr McKay said.
