Mike Whitney, former Australian Test cricketer and the show’s host, will go four-wheel driving through the Abercrombie River National Park, visit Two Heads Brewing and spend the night at Alfred on Keppel.
Detour Adventures’ Ian Redpath took Mr Whitney on the trip through the national park and said he was delighted when he got the phone call.
“They contacted me, after website research, and they liked what they saw at the Abercrombie River National Park,” he said.
“They were looking for something they hadn’t done before. I was delighted. I think it’ll be a wonderful boost.
“It’ll also help boost Bathurst. Many people think it’s in the middle of farmland and you just drive through it.
“People don’t know about the four-wheel driving. There’s more opportunities out here and there’s less people four-wheel driving out here compared to some places in Sydney.”
Two Heads Brewing owner Greg Hedley was excited to work alongside Mr Whitney.
“I grew up watching Mike Whitney playing cricket, so it was pretty exciting to work with him,” he said.
“Mike has got a huge personality and it’s interesting that you get five minutes of show time for the three hours of filming.
“All our Sydney Weekender social media posts have been the most popular ones we’ve ever had. We expect the exposure will be a good advertisement for us.”
The show will air at 5.30pm on Prime.
