The theatre festival, which will feature six original works created by graduating theatre media students from Charles Sturt University Bathurst, will begin on Wednesday.
“This year we will be transforming the Ponton Theatre and Creative Hub on the CSU campus into a nebula of comical roving acts, theatre and live music from our talented local artists, including an opening performance from Bathurst’s own Smith and Jones,” marketing director Jordan Russell said.
The festival’s six original works vary in style from comedy to physical theatre to serious drama, Mr Russell said.
The opening ceremony, Constellations Of The Mind, in the Ponton courtyard on Wednesday, will feature large-scale puppets, an alien circus and fire performances.
Mr Russell said those with a passion for media and the arts are also encouraged to attend the Theatre Media Pathways forum in the Ponton Theatre on September 29, where a panel of theatre media alumni will be talking about the future of regional arts and opportunities as emerging artists.
Sprung Festival will run from September 20 to 30.
