The Bathurst community is invited to watch the landing of the huge aircraft at approximately 10.20am.
The aircraft will be landing in celebration of Lifeline Central West’s official announcement that the Soar, Ride and Shine event will be returning to the region in 2018.
Lifeline Central West executive director Alex Ferguson said this opportunity was not to be missed.
“This RAAF aircraft is rarely seen on the ground, so coming to watch it land would be a great school holidays activity for kids and their parents,” he said.
“Bathurst Regional Council have kindly agreed to allow access to the aircraft parking area, so there will be opportunity to get up close and personal with the C130J Hercules and an aerobatic plane provided by Paul Bennet Airshows.”
Following the success of the inaugural plane, bike and car show in 2016, Soar, Ride and Shine will take place at the Bathurst Airport over the weekend of the April 7-8, 2018.
Mr Ferguson said next year’s Soar, Ride and Shine event will be bigger and better than ever, with more cars and motorbikes on display in a larger “show and shine,” more aircraft flying over two days and more food vendors, stalls and entertainment.
