Scott and Kirsty Marnock, and their son Max, 6, travelled for 11 hours from their home in Melbourne to camp on Mount Panorama.
They say the atmosphere of camping on the Mount was always exciting.
“You can’t beat it up here, it’s fantastic with the atmosphere,” Mrs Marnock said.
The family have been making the annual pilgrimage to Bathurst for the race for a number of years and said in that time they have learnt a few things.
“You’ve got to be prepared for all sorts of weather,” Mrs Marnock said.
During their stay, the young family often visit the Bathurst CBD to pick up food and supplies and they are also looking forward to another visit for Wednesday’s transporter parade and driver autograph sessions.
“Max loves all the drivers and he’ll love the truck parade,” Mrs Marnock said.
