Bathurst has received well below average rainfall since March, but October looks set to break the drought.
Rain started to fall around 1am on Friday and continued across the day, with 33.2 millimetres recorded by the Bureau of Meteorology at Bathurst Airport by 5pm.
So far this month, 54.4mm of rain has fallen in Bathurst which is just short of the long-term average October rainfall of 59.1mm.
Western Advocate reader Noelene Steel posted to Facebook that she had received “25mils of wonderful rain at Kelso”.
Pam Graham posted she had recorded 16mm in her rain gauge at Sunny Corner.
No further rain is predicted across the weekend and into early next week.
The best chance of rainfall will be next Wednesday and Thursday with a high chance of up to 5mm each day.
