The National Cool Climate Wine Show came to an end on Friday evening with the ever popular public wine tasting event.
Michelle Kerr, National Cool Climate Wine Show committee member said after a week of judging the wine is opened up so people can come down and ‘be their own judge.’
“Basically you can try what you want,” she said.
Numbers at the public tasting were down a little on previous years, but even so Mrs Kerr said feedback from the event was great.
She said two stewards were wandering at the event, chatting to people about the wines and sharing their knowledge.
“Everyone was really happy to have the chance to experiment and taste different wines,” she said.
Wines of Bathurst also had a table which was well populated.
Winemakers from Orange who attended the event were more then impressed saying how well organised it was and complimenting Mrs Kerr about the quality of the food.
“They said it was amazing.”
She said their feedback reaffirmed that the city has something really special.
“It was a really good night, there were plenty of gold winning media wines.”
“Next year is our 20th year, and we are ramping up the event, there will be a lot of wine orientated events.”
