Member for Bathurst Paul Toole held a special presentation at the Machattie Park Rotunda recently to formally acknowledge the special citizens.
He said Christopher Morgan from the historic Abercrombie House received a Community Service Award for his outstanding contribution to the Bathurst district.
“Christopher is truly a great ambassador for all that’s good about the wider Bathurst region,” Mr Toole said.
“His promotion of tourism and the rich history the region boasts cannot be under-estimated.”
Mr Toole said NSW Seniors’ Festival Local Achievement Awards were presented to Roland Auguszczak, for his involvement in music, and to “Odd Job Men” Brian Cowan and Mark Ryan.
“The Odd Job Men, all members of Perthville’s Uniting Church, do round-the-house jobs and each year nominate a charity for which they raise funds,” Mr Toole said.
“I was also proud to recognise the achievements of local dragon boat team members Shona Stewart and Megan O’Farrell on their selection to represent NSW in the 2017 Dragon Boat Championships.”
