One of the clear benefits of this restructure is an increased focus on creating opportunities for people in regional NSW to experience and participate in the arts.
To make sure that Create NSW is engaging with regional communities staff are getting out on the road more often and next Monday they will be in Bathurst to talk to the local community.
Create NSW’s priorities are:
- Strategic leadership in delivering Create in NSW: The NSW Arts and Cultural Policy Framework.
- Leading and contributing to the dialogue about the role and impact of arts, culture and creativity to our identity, community and economy.
- Working collaboratively with artists and arts workers, the arts and cultural sector and our partners within government.
- An innovative arts and cultural sector, and growing creative industries.
- Supporting more opportunities for more people to experience and shape the arts, particularly in Regional NSW.
- Embracing the diversity of arts and culture in NSW and fostering more opportunities for Aboriginal artists and arts workers.
- Being client focused.
There are numerous funding opportunities provided by Create NSW. One very exciting initiative is the Young Regional Artist scholarship which offers a number of young people each year the opportunity, through $10,000 support, to take up an exciting career development opportunity in Australia or abroad.
Two young people from Bathurst were successful in the latest round.
Create NSW is keen to hear about the exciting arts, culture and screen projects happening in NSW and tell you about some of the funding opportunities now available.
Bring your ART or SCREEN project ideas – dreams, concept or fully formed and let the experts from Create NSW guide you through strategic planning, resourcing and potential partners. And find out more about the newest funding possibilities to make your project come to life.
Come along and meet the new team and network with other artists from the region from 4pm-6pm on Monday at BMEC. RSVP: artsoutwest@csu.edu.au
