In what was her third career start, Raglan Diva ($5) has claimed her first career win in the Bathurst Automotive Group Maiden (307 metres) at Kennerson Park on Monday.

After coming fifth at Bathurst last week and second at Richmond on November 1, Raglan Diva’s first win was comfortable – 7.75 metres ahead of second placed Shiwen Express ($20).
Raglan-based trainer and owner Matt Murphy has happy with the win.
“If she jumped, I thought she’d win quite easy. She trials that time every week. She’s just been unlucky in the past two starts,” he said.
“Her first start she got beat by a neck. She’s been a bit unlucky but today was good. I’ll take any win as it comes.”
Raglan Diva jumped well at the start and pulled ahead towards the end of the first straight, getting across the field and taking the lead.
Shirwen Express tried her best to keep up with Raglan Diva, but ultimately failed and finished second.
Jacobite Mouse ($12) claimed third place.
Race favourite Rosedene Valor, who was starting his 18th career race, missed a placing and finished in fifth.
Four-year-old race veteran Sweet Little Mel ($18) started her 54th career race but unfortunately for her and Gooloogong trainer and owner Raymond Stevenson, finished seventh.
Murphy said he expects to take Raglan Diva back to Richmond.
“She’s been to Richmond a bit. Maybe back here next Monday,” he said.
“We bred her ourselves. She’s one of my own and it’s always good when one of my own wins.”
