The two services have relocated to the former Spotlight site, a massive 1000 square metre office space in Keppel Street.
The $1.5 million redevelopment of the expansive vacant shop began early this year to create a purpose-built facility for the two health services.
Headspace offers a range of mental and physical health services, as well as study and drug services, to young people aged 12 to 25 years old.
Program manager for headspace Nicki Halliwell said the new location is more convenient than its former Havannah Street location for young people to seek assistance.
“It’s definitely more central and the young people really like it.
“We haven’t quite finished decorating it, but people are saying how much they love the new office, and it’s only going to get better,” she said, adding an outdoor green area has yet to be completed.
The service is currently running at capacity and has provided 4260 services to date, the national average for headspace is around 3300.
Ms Halliwell said this year alone a further 500 young people had accessed the service in Bathurst.
Marathon Health has around 50 staff in Bathurst, which up until the relocation were spread around different offices in the city.
Marathon Health is a not for profit health organisation, providing health care services throughout regional and remote areas of the state, offering services which target mental health, chronic disease and other health related issues.
“We work hard to ensure people in remote communities have the best possible access to health care,” Emily Roberts, communications officer with Marathon Health said.
The organisation was this year names as the employer of choice by the NSW Business Chamber.
While both services are now operational in the new building, the official launch of the new site is expected to be held in the New Year.
