The Australian Fossil and Mineral Museum is home to a pop-up library, where popular titles are being stored during the renovations at the library on Keppel Street.
Library manager Patou Clerc said people can find a range of things at the pop-up library, including popular adult fiction, popular adult non-fiction, children’s books and films.
“We also have the public PCs with internet and access to the online resources that the library has,” she said.
Since the pop-up library opened, more than 100 people have come through the doors to access the library’s resources.
“They are small numbers, but they are people who can now get a book,” Ms Clerc said.
The pop-up library is open during the Fossil Museum’s usual opening hours, which are 10am to 4pm Monday through to Saturday, and 10am to 2pm on Sunday.
The only days the facility will be closed are Christmas Day, Boxing Day and New Year’s Day.
Ms Clerc encouraged people to utilise the online library, which recently had new materials added to it.
People who need to return books they have borrowed can still use the chute at the library during the renovation period.
In January, an additional library resource will be available.
The Library Van will be parked on Keppel Street in front of the forecourt every Monday, Tuesday and Friday from January 2 to 23.
The van will be open between 10am and 4pm on these days.

Bathurst Library is expected to re-open at the end of January.
It will be refurbished with customised furniture, new shelving and fresh carpet.
Technology will also get a boost with new computers and a self-checkout station.
