Bunt is currently on tour with the Australian women’s indoor hockey team which will contest the World Cup in Berlin, the squad having conducted their first training session in Brussels on Monday.
The Bathurst talent will take part in a number of warm up games before the World Cup starts on February 7, and she sees it as a good opportunity to showcase her skills.
“I’ve played a season in Europe before, when I was about 21 I spent nine months over there, I played a season over there outdoor then I played a bit indoor,” she said.
“There are opportunities like that, they do take a lot of players over there to play. It’s just wait and see if an opportunity comes up, but I have played over there before.
“We’ve got a couple of weeks before the World Cup, we are going to Belgium and Holland and playing a lot of practice matches.”
Australia’s best finish at a women’s indoor World Cup was a sixth placing in 2007, but Bunt is hoping to improve on that. It will not be easy given their pool includes recently crowned European Cup champions Germany and semi-finalists from that same tournament the Czech Republic.
Still, Bunt is positive.
“It will be wonderful and I really can feel this year we are going to go really well. We are going to try and put the best performance in that Australia has ever done,” she said.
