STUDENTS from China who have been in Bathurst this week experiencing country Australia might be graduates of Charles Sturt University in years to come, according to councillor Jess Jennings.

“And many more may follow,” he said.
Cr Jennings was at Scots School on Thursday talking to four students from the northern Chinese city of Yangquan.
They, along with five students who were at Kelso High on Thursday, form a delegation that has come to Bathurst under the organisation of the Australian International Trade Association (AITA).
Over the course of the week, the students have toured CSU Bathurst, seen some of the city’s attractions, attended a mayoral reception and participated in school classes.
The AITA’s Michael Guo was also in Bathurst this week, meeting with mayor Graeme Hanger and Cr Jennings.
“We talked about progress to a formal sister city relationship between Yangquan and Bathurst Regional Council,” Cr Jennings said. “This delegation is a very tangible step in the right direction.”
Cr Jennings said there were many opportunities for students in our small world.
“Never in the history of education has there been more chance of having an international exchange with students,” he said.
