Concord Golf Club’s Lamb shot eight under par over his two rounds to win the boys’ championship while Toukley Golf Club’s Boyd finished five over par to claim the girls’ championship crown.
There was daylight between the two winners and the rest of the competition.
Back-to-back rounds of 67 for Lamb saw him finish eight strokes clear of next best contender Adam Thorp (even) from the ACT’s Federal Golf Club.
Thorp’s clubmate Lachlan Chamberlain finished in a share of third with Gerringong Golf Club’s Luke Taylor at two over par.
Boyd finished her first round sharing the lead with Royal Canberra’s Isabelle Hawes. Both players held a five stroke lead after rounds of 74.
However, Boyd was only one stroke worse on the second day while Hawes hit an 82 to fall out of the hunt.
Lamb almost made it through his second round without any bogeys before a small stumble in the final hole of the tournament.
Boyd had somewhat of a rollercoaster opening round but finished with an impressive five birdies for the day.
Casey Thompson was Bathurst’s sole competitor in the girls’ championship.
Thompson recovered from a rough opening round to finish with 37 over for the tournament, which was strong enough for an equal sixth result in the 14 and 15 years race.
Cameron Jackson (+23), Jake Davis (+35) and Jacob Lamb (+54) all represented the Bathurst club in the boys championship.
Bathurst’s Cooper Starkey (+42) hit two consistent rounds and clubmate Harry Tanner (+48) made a great recovery on Sunday in the boys 11 and under event.
