The 10,287 crowd was the biggest to attend a match since Penrith first started bringing NRL matches to Bathurst in 2014, while the 26-20 victory for the Cowboys gave the paying public the chance to see future immortal Johnathan Thurston in action in our very own backyard.
Couple that with the fact the Panthers produced another stirring comeback, the likes of Tongan wrecking ball Jason Taumalolo hit form and a stack of Western Rams juniors donned Penrith colours in the clash, and Friday night was one to remember.
