The fake $50 and $100 notes have been passed at local businesses including fast food outlets, service stations and convenience stores. Police are asking store staff to remain vigilant.
Anyone who suspects they have received a counterfeit note is asked to call police on 6332 8699 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
Business owners with CCTV footage that might assist the investigation are asked to keep a copy for police.
Lock up, every time
BATHURST police have again warned motorists not to make their vehicle a target for thieves following new reports of thefts from cars.
Thefts in recent days have been concentrated in the West Bathurst area.
Police are appealing to the public not to leave any items of value in their vehicles and to report any suspicious behaviour to police. Motorists are also reminded to lock their vehicles when unattended.
