It’s International Museums Day on Friday and our live broadcast will be a great opportunity to raise awareness of how important museums are in our community.
You’ll hear interviews with staff from both the library and art gallery about upcoming events and workshops, gallery exhibitions and the library refurbishments.
Kaleb and Jessica are your hosts for the broadcast and this event is a project they have been working on as part of their radio course at Charles Sturt University.
Tune in on Friday from noon or pop down to the library and say hello.
Old churches
THIS week on Cool Climate Living, Susan Lacey looks at how historic churches are embedded in the history of our region.
The three featured churches on the program are All Saints Cathedral in the Bathurst town square, Holy Trinity Church in Kelso and Hoskins Church in Lithgow.
Susan talks with representatives of each church and topics of conversation include the architecture of church buildings, the changing nature of how churches engage with the community, the church cemetery as historical microcosm of a community and church gardens.
It sounds like a fascinating insight into historic churches in the region. Tune in for Cool Climate Living on Friday at 11am.
Let’s get creative
NEXT week, we start a new series on 2MCE called “Project Creativity” featuring conversations with artist, writer and Bathurst local Dean Mobbs.
Josh and Jodi have been working on this project as part of their Radio course at Charles Sturt University and I’m excited to hear this new eight part series.
Each episode covers a different aspect of creativity and the creative process including inspiration and process, tips for creativity and who have been the great creatives throughout history.

Electro dance
JESSICA from Wednesday afternoon’s “Mesh Up” show is spreading her musical wings to present a new program, called “Bangers and Mesh” on Thursday evenings.
You’ll hear electronic dance music featuring old-skool electronic favourites and a great party vibe that all kicks off at 10pm on Thursdays on your radio.
