I quote from one of your articles: “Council voted almost 12 months ago to put aside money in the 2017-18 budget to fund half the cost of roundabout, hoping federal money would be made available for the other half” (Calare MP Andrew Gee the new target for roundabout campaigners, Western Advocate, February 25).
The reason for my “new” letter is the vacillating attitude of the Bathurst Council in this regard.
One minute we have the guarantee that a roundabout will be built only to have that decision put on hold. This has happened over and over again.
I had a serious accident on this intersection in November 2016. As a result of the accident my car was written off and I went to hospital quite shaken.
I have spoken at council with the McNabs who have been stalwarts in striving to get some sensible decision about this “black spot” area.
But here we are again awaiting funding after it was supposedly all cut and dry that the roundabout would definitely go ahead,
Maybe when someone is fatally or permanently injured then perhaps something will be done?
Amazing how money is found for anything concerning Mount Panorama but when it concerns the ordinary citizens of Bathurst and their road safety it is not a priority.
