Ms Abedi, who completed a Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, was announced as the winner of the prestigious Trainee of the Year Award at a gala awards ceremony at Blue Wren Winery.
It’s a fantastic achievement for her considering English is her second language.
“It was challenging to do the course but I had some great support from my teachers,” she said.
She said was a nice surprise for to receive the award, one she was not expecting.
Ms Abedi, who now works at Mitchell Early Learning Centre, was nominated for the award by TAFE NSW Children’s Services teacher Marney Lynch, who believes the recognition is thoroughly deserved.
“Rezvan has a kind, caring and gentle nature which shines through in her every day work,” she said.
“She is skillful, dedicated and extremely hard working.
“From a teaching point of view Rezvan is always a pleasure to deal with.
“She’s willing and eager to learn new skills and put them into practice, and it was my privilege to endorse Rezvan’s nomination.”
