Over four days the Bathurst girls achieved an impressive share of overall and apparatus placings.
Team co-coach Melanie Proust said the team, consisting of level four and five competitors, can hold their heads very high.
“With every comp we’re improving, and that’s something we like to see. We’ve been competitive over the last 18 months every time we go somewhere,” she said.
“What we’re looking for is that improvement every time, and that’s what the girls are doing.
“Isabelle Lund and Shae Fitzpatrick came second and third in their division. In that division we placed from second through to fifth, so that was really exciting.
“In level five Paige Lowe got first on floor and Isabelle got first on beam. Shae can sometimes be a nervous worker but she was probably our standout performer and came away third overall.”
The great results didn’t end there for the Bathurst squad.
The level four group – split into two teams, who each finished sixth in their divisions – consisted of Haylee Besant, Maisie Bostjancic, Olivia Clemens, Amity Covington-Gorst, Fitzpatrick, Machayla Hayes, Ziggy Montague-Weston, Lily Mulligan, Lund, Keely Toole and Charlotte Turner.
Clemens (floor), Mulligan (vault), Turner (vault) and Lund (beam) were apparatus winners. Clemens was fourth overall, Mulligan fifth overall and Turner sixth overall.
Bostjancic, Hayes and Toole returned home with top five apparatus finishes to their name.
Fitzpatrick had two third place finishes in bars and beam and Lund was runner-up on bars.
The level five competitors came home fifth overall, with the team made up of Chelsea Bestwick, Olivia Griffin, Paige Lowe, Elle Wardle and Elly Rudd.
Along with her success on floor Lowe also finished third in bars and was sixth overall.
Wardle finished inside the top five for floor.
Proust said there’s little time for the team to sit back and relax after its great run at Tamworth. There’s several new tournaments on the horizon.
“Being in the country we have to travel a lot. In a month’s time we’ll have Country Championships in Newcastle, which is a qualifier for the State Championships,” she said.
“We’ll have a similar sized group going away to Country.”
The Country Championships at Newcastle will be held over five days starting from July 12.
