Both clubs are oozing confidence for their second meeting of the season, and the winning team will boost their claims for a minor premiership.
Bushrangers hold the bragging rights in the meeting courtesy of their 7-9-51 to 3-0-18 win earlier this season.
That match was a competitive clash up until the half-time break where the Bushrangers’ experience showed.
Giants have since gone on to record a win over current competition leaders Dubbo Demons and a dominant victory over the Cowra Blues.
Captain Katie Kennedy would love to make it three in a row when her Giants meet their cross-city rivals.
“We’re really looking forward to it. It’s always a good match against the Bushies. They’ve set the standard for where our league can get to, so for our girls to play them and show us where we can get to is really good,” she said.
“We’re really surprised with how well the girls have been doing this year. My one goal for the year was to get at least one team on the field every week and to have no forfeits.
“To have that happen and only lose one game so far has been incredible.”
Three-time defending champions Bushrangers are shaping up again as the team to beat this season.
The team are being pushed hard by the Giants and Demons, and captain Kelsey Richards is enjoying the closely fought season of football.
“We’ve had a good break to rest up and we’ve been great on the paddock as well,” she said.
“We’ve got a lot of players back who weren’t playing last time so that will put us in good stead.
“This season has seen so many changes in the competition. The Giants have come in and a lot of teams have had a changeover in personnel.
“I’m really proud of the way our team have handled themselves. We’ve had an interrupted start to the season so it will be great to play these two games in a row.”
The second Bathurst derby of the season gets underway 12.45pm on George Park 1.
