Step up Joely Anderson.
She had been playing centre back for the majority of the game before being sent into the midfield during extra-time.
Bathurst won a corner and Kate Duffy sent the ball in the box, which Anderson found and smashed into the back of the net.
“It was very exciting, I didn’t really expect [to score the winner],” she said.
“I just hit the ball in and the whole team came around me. It was a really good moment.
“We had a lot of possession throughout a lot of the game but it was a really hard fight.
“It was just really to good get the win. We’ve been playing good lately and the girls are all really nice to play with.”
Bathurst overcame Orange’s James Sheahan Catholic High 5-nil, with goals coming from Zoey Wade (two goals), Duffy (two goals) and Molly Mashman.
“We had a pretty good game against them,” Anderson said.
“It was a hard tournament to win. That was the sixth round of competition.”
Bathurst will now progress to the round of 32 stage of the national knock-out competition format of the Bill Turner Trophy.
In the Bill Turner Cup boy’s area final, Bathurst weren’t able to take out the double after the team lost 3-1 to Cowra in the final.
The win for Anderson, who plays for the Western NSW Mariners, caps off an incredible week, after she was selected for the girl’s under 14s NSW Country that will compete for the National Youth Championships.
She was selected alongside fellow Bathurst High and Mariners teammate Menzi White, while Duffy was selected for the under 15s Metropolitan Blue girl’s side because she plays for Football NSW Institute.
Anderson said she was quite excited to be picked in the NSW Country side.
“I just found out through email from Football NSW,” she said.
“Menzi came up and hugged. It was a bit of celebration for us.
“It’s going to be very hard competition. We’re versing all the different states and this year we have a metro team in our pool, so that’ll be a very hard challenge.”
Three camps were held prior to team selections.
The championships will be held at the C.ex Coffs International Stadium in Coffs Harbour, from July 16 to 20.
