The assembly is expected to choose between Scots All Saints’ College and Bathurst Presbyterian College as the name of the school which will start in 2019.
The name has been one of the most contentious points since the integration of the schools began last year.
Scots ASC College had been announced as the new school’s name in March but the trustees left the door open for a change following an outcry, particularly from the All Saints’ community.

There was criticism of the effective use of “college college” in the name and concern from the All Saints’ community that “ASC” did not reflect their school, resulting in the option to go before the general assembly being altered to Scots All Saints’ College.
In recent weeks, there has also been a petition circulating among the Scots School community calling for the trustees to stick to their original choice for the new name, or at least retain “Scots” in any new options to be put forward.
In an integration update published on both schools’ websites on Thursday, Presbyterian Church in NSW general manager Jeof Falls acknowledged that there might be still be parents unhappy with both of the names to go before the general assembly.
What do you think?
“Whilst the process of choosing the new name was not intended to be democratic, the preferences (all different) of all major stakeholders have been critically important to them and they, and I on their behalf, have sought to consult as widely as possible in order to be well informed and to be respectful of all,” he wrote.
“… The assembly will be fully informed of the journey that we have travelled over the past three months in respect of these two names, including the appeals received, and the assembly alone will choose the name.”
Full branding for the new school will be unveiled in Term 3, along with school uniform designs.
The NSW Presbyterian Church general assembly will meet in two weeks.
