A five-race series, it involves triathletes from across the globe competing for French clubs. For each stage a team enters five competitors who earn points towards their overall club tally.
Moana-Veale’s team ranked eighth in the opening stage in Valencia and ninth at round two in Dunkerque, but as the Bathurst talent impressed in Paris on Sunday with an 11th placing in the women’s division one race, it helped Stade Poitevin place sixth.
It also improved the team’s overall ranking in the series to seventh, just four points outside the top five.
Moana-Veale and her team-mates tackled a 750 metres swim in the Ourcq Channel, a 20km cycle leg then a run course which took them past the Eiffel Tower.
“Spending my 25th birthday doing what I do best – running around foreign cities in lycra,” she joked.
Moana-Veale began well with a 9:23 swim split – an effort only four of her 67 rivals bettered – then backed that up with a solid 32:32 effort on the bike. She finished off with a 16:22 run leg for an overall time of 1:00.1.
Victory belonged to Cassandre Beaugrand (58:58), who’s Poissy Triathlon team clean swept the podium.
Still, Stade Poitevin coach Kevin Berny was pleased with Moana-Veale and her team-mates.
“The conclusion around the Eiffel Tower was majestic ... overall we had a remarkable morning.”
