The fourth annual Bathurst Winter Festival kicks off this Saturday and will run until July 22.
More than 2000 tickets to ice skate have already been purchased.
Ice Rinks Australia’s Jamie Stoller is the man behind the eight-person team who have been on site since Monday setting up the 30 metre by 18 metre skating rink.
“The refrigerant that we use is chilled down to minus 12 [degrees] and circulated continuously through the festival,” he said of how the ice stays frozen.
Ice Rinks Australia is in its first year of a three-year contract with Bathurst Regional Council to provide the rink at the annual winter festival.
“This is our second biggest one we do around the country,” Mr Stoller said.
