Both teams found two goals in an open, entertaining first half while Tyson Newton’s strike after the break was enough to get the Goats home.
Macquarie opened the scoring against the run of play when Kyle Passeri’s free kick somehow missed a crowd of players inside the Panorama box and bounced into the goal.
Panorama responded quickly through a free kick of their own. Matt Tree sent in a dangerous ball and Nick Adams chested it home.
Matt Woodward put Panorama in front for the first time when he was successful from the penalty spot – a kick earned through a Macquarie handball.
Macquarie levelled proceedings back up in contentious circumstances when the ball was deemed to have completely crossed the Panorama line during a scramble in front of goal.
Among the tangle of players Passeri claimed his second goal of the day.
Macqaurie had a chance to get back in front before half-time when Shane Turner got in behind defender Clint Bryant but his shot was off target.
It took just four minutes of the second half for Panorama to regain the lead when Newton’s shot found the lower right corner of the Macquarie goal.
Angus Allen almost mustered up an immediate Macquarie response but his shot went across the face of goal.
Macquarie thought they had made it 3-all midway through the half but were caught offside.
Hamish Rankine had the best opportunity of the half for Macquarie with a shot from close range, only to be blocked by Panorama goalkeeper Michael Owens.
“It was good to get the three points today. The boys are on a bit of a roll with four in a row,” Panorama’s Beau Yates said.
“The great thing with this team is that along with a couple of experienced guys there’s a lot of youth in this team.”
