Mayfield took out top place in the Tourism Attraction category, ahead of Broken Hill’s Outback Astronomy, and is now a finalist in the NSW Tourism Awards to be announced in November.
Mayfield CEO Hamish Keith, said the awards were a welcome endorsement for the innovation and rebranding at the garden.
“Mayfield Garden is a young business that is striving for excellence, and our place on the world’s stage,” Mr Keith said.
Mayfield opened to the public in 2008 and is one of the largest cool-climate gardens in the world.
The gold award acknowledges Mayfield’s innovation, becoming international ready, wedding friendly, and even dog-friendly. Mayfield has launched Glamping in the Garden, hosted exclusive Garden Tours and corporate retreats, and even done Goat Yoga.
