The 12-week multi-trade Bathurst course will give participants an opportunity to try their hand at a number of trades, including carpentry, horticulture and automotive.
Skillset workforce senior manager Jane McWilliam said the Skills4Trade program provided real-life opportunities for young people, helping equip them with the entry-level skills needed to enter the workplace.
“This Bathurst course is the perfect opportunity for participants to try out these industries to make sure a trade apprenticeship or a traineeship is the right pathway for them, and if it is, puts them well ahead of the competition in securing one,” Ms McWilliam said.
“Engaging with young people and equipping them with the skills and work experience they need to get a job is at the heart of what both Skillset and TAFE NSW do – and this course is a very exciting opportunity for people looking for a real-life pathway to a trade career.”
Skills4Trade is fully-subsidised by the NSW Government for eligible participants aged 15-24.
An information session for anyone interested will be held on Monday, August 20 in the TAFE NSW Bathurst Student Hub from noon-1pm.
