THE one thing St Pat’s can be happy about in their 6-1 loss to Zig Zag is that they picked the right week to go down to their Lithgow opponents.

Pat’s will play Zig Zag again in the upcoming minor semi-final but they’re going to need a big improvement from the hockey they showed on Saturday.
Saints’ sole goalscorer, Darcy Davis, said Zig Zag were simply too strong in their meeting at Bob Roach Field.
“Semi-finals can be a different game altogether but it’s obviously not the result that we were hoping for and we weren’t too happy with the way we played,” he said.
“We have a chance to redeem ourselves next week. Hopefully can learn from a couple of things and take those into semi-finals week.
“Zig Zag are just consistently strong. They haven’t changed a lot in the way of tactics since the start of the season but they’ve just got a solid foundation of players that throw the ball around well.
“When you deviate from your game plan they can run over the top of you.”
Davis scored within the first couple of minutes but the joy didn’t last long for the Saints as they went into the break down 3-1.
Lithgow went on with the job to keep Pat’s off the score sheet for the remaining minutes.
