Since the formation of the Central West Rugby Union competition, Bathurst Bulldogs have come to forge a reputation as one of the heavyweights. Since 1976 the club has only twice failed to not have at least one grade qualify for finals rugby.
The first grade outfit has not clinched a premiership title since 2010 – tears of joy flowing on that September afternoon at Cale Oval when they beat Narromine 27-15.

Orange Emus, the long-time foe who Bulldogs will meet this Saturday, won the premiership decider against Bathurst in both 2001 and 2002.
Forbes beat Bulldogs in 2003 and though the blue and golds had joy in Dubbo in 2005, the Kangaroos had their revenge on grand final day in 2008.
