St Pat’s will take on Group 11 league tag champions Parkes Spacecats at Carrington Park on Sunday, in the NAB Western Premiers Challenge.
The two played each other earlier in the season, at the Canowindra League Tag Carnival, but that was way back in March.
Six months later the teams will face off in Bathurst, following Parkes’ win over Westside in Dubbo the same day St Pat’s were crowned Group 10 premiers.
St Pat’s coach Mick Armstrong he said his side doesn’t know too much about the Spacecats.
“They’ll be a pretty handy side. They’re quick all over the park and they’ll be very hard to be beat,” he said.
Armstrong praised the NAB Western Challenge competition, which presents the top teams in Group 10 and Group 11 to fight out for bragging rights.

“Yeah for sure, I think it’s a great idea,” he said.
“I think it’s great to challenge to be the best team in western NSW or out of the two groups. I’m looking forward to the opportunity and I know the girls are too.”
St Pat’s will only have 13 players when they face Parkes on Sunday.
“We’ve got a few missing but we’ve still got a pretty handy side,” Armstrong said.
“We’ll only have 13 players on the weekend, which is less then what we normally have, with a few girls having commitments, but we’ve still got a very strong side.”
Armstrong isn’t get too ahead of himself, but is feeling confident heading into the game.
“Obviously we’re pretty confident, considering the season we’ve had, but Parkes is a bit of an unknown,” he said.
“You don’t know how they’re going to come out and play.
“I think they only lost one game in their season this year, so they’ll be a quality team.
“I’m confident, but weary of Parkes and what they’re going to offer on the day.”
St Pat’s capped off an unbeaten season earlier this month, when they defeated Orange Hawks 16-6 in the decider in Cowra.
The Bathurst side led 10-6 at half-time, courtesy of tries from Riane Barton and Meredith Jones, before Amy Copping scored St Pat’s third in the second-half to cap off the win.
