Donalee Delahunty and Andrew James took out the women’s and men’s top gongs with 18 and 20 votes respectively, claiming their first CWAFL best and fairest awards.
Both winners won by just one vote ahead of team-mates, with the Lady Bushrangers claiming the top two places in the individual award and Bushrangers Rebels doing the same.
Troy Robinson was just one vote behind team-mate James in the men’s count, while ruckman Pete Grundy tied for third with Parkes Panthers’ Isaac Bunge too, with 13 votes each.
Tim Barry, who was also the competition’s leading goalkicker with 71 goals, was the highest ranked player from the premiership winning Orange Tigers with 10 votes in seventh.
Delahunty claimed the women’s count by one vote ahead of Keeghan Tucker, while Dubbo’s Lauren Hazell was the leading goalkicker with 55.
Tigers’ young guns Nate Constance, Liam Constance and Gemma Gailey claimed best and fairest awards, in the under 12s, under 14s and youth girls’ leagues respectively. Bathurst Giants star Jack Packham topped the under 17s poll.
