While the Supercars champions will hit the world famous Mount Panorama circuit from next Thursday, October 4, Bathurst will come alive with race fever even earlier.
Expect to see race fans filing into town from this weekend to start taking up their camping spots on the Mount, but the real fun will start in the centre of town on Wednesday, October 3.
That’s when the annual Transporter Parade will roll down William Street, along with a parade of open-top cars carrying the drivers into Bathurst.
The parade starts at 11.30am, giving fans the chance to see these giant machines up close as they convoy into town and make their way to the Mount.
Once the transporters have filed through town, attention will turn to Kings Parade for two driver signing sessions at 12.15pm and 2pm.
Here is your chance to meet the stars of the Supercars Championship and have them sign your shirt, capp, poster – almost anything.
The street party also includes unveiling of the 2017 Winners Plaque plus jumping castles, face painting, the B-Rock Barbecue and more.
The following day, Thursday, October 5, Rydges Mount Panorama will host the annual Legendary Moments Dinner.
It’s a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to listen to legends of the Great Race as they relive some of their historical and most memorable moments on Mount Panorama.
Ticket holders will be taken on a drive down memory lane, while listening to firsthand accounts of the drivers’ experiences with the mighty Mount.
Then on Saturday, October 6 from 10am-4pm, Kings Parade will come alive again with the Saturday Street Fair.
It’s free entry to the fair that has something for everyone, including food and market stalls, great entertainment by local artists and plenty of activities for the kids including $2 rides.
