CHIFLEY Police District officers are investigating two incidents over the past week where offenders have broken into the homes of elderly residents as they slept.

The first break-in occurred just after midnight last Sunday.
Police said unknown offenders broke into a unit at a Kelso retirement village while the 94-year-old resident was asleep inside. It is not yet clear if anything was stolen.
In the in second incident, an 83-year-old woman was asleep in her home on Russell Street between 10.45pm Wednesday and 8.30am on Thursday when thieves forced entry.
They stole a handbag and its contents.
Anyone with information relating to the break-ins is urged to come forward.
