The Tickford Racing star will switch from his regular green The Bottle-O Racing livery for the great race and instead adopt the renowned Cobra colours on his Ford.
It is a nod to the Moffat Ford Dealers XC Falcons which Colin Bond and Allan Moffat raced at Mount Panorama forty years ago.
“We’ll create history, but to be part of it and to showcase what has happened at the mountain in previous years is always exciting,” Winterbottom said.
“I’m proud to run the colours and hopefully it does well.”
Winterbottom will be partnered by Dean Canto as he chases another Peter Brock Trophy to add to the one he hoisted five years ago.
If he could do that, it would be the highlight of what has thus far been a tough season for Winterbottom. He sits 12th in the championship, a second in Perth his only podium appearance.

“Anyone is a chance, there’s no substitute for experience at that place,” he said of the Mount.
“I’ve had a lot of years there, I’ve had highs and lows, I know what it takes to win, I know what it takes to fail. Hopefully we get it right, get a good result and get on that top step.”
The new livery for the #5 Ford Falcon FG X which Winterbottom and Canto will race was revealed alongside the launch of Tickford’s TSV-535R.
The two have similar design elements – classic Sno White with Bold and Olympic Blue stripes.
“To tie in our racing partnership with the vehicle enhancement business adds another dimension to our relationship, and we thank The Bottle-O for their willingness to join us in this endeavour,” Tickford managing director Rod Nash said.
“The design is unmistakable as a winning car, and we would like nothing more than to add to that win tally at the Mountain.”
The new-look Falcon and the rest of this year’s Supercars hopefuls will hit the track for the first time at Mount Panorama on Thursday.
