Drivers ventured out onto a wet track in the early stages of their 50 minute practice session and were playing it safe.
As the track began to dry out the teams were able to up the pace. Eventually a handful of drivers were able to bring their times below the two minute and 10 second mark.
That was almost 20 seconds quicker than what the leading teams were producing inside the opening 10 minutes.
Championship leader Jaxon Evans finished the session on top with a 2:09.7139, putting him ahead of David Wall (2:09.8780) and Jordan Love (2:10.0048).

Driver Adrian Flack said the conditions made for an interesting session.
“The track was full wet when we first went out and then halfway through you had to make the decision whether you wanted to go to the dry tyres or not, because there was a dry line for most of the way around,” he said.
“Once you put those on the first couple of laps are pretty hairy but towards the end it became about how much commitment you wanted to put in. That’s when we saw the times start to come down.”
Just past the half hour mark Evans brought the times below the 2:20 mark for the first time, lopping more than four seconds off the previous leader.
From there teams started to surge along the dry line and enjoyed fewer scary moments.
“It’s always about making it through with no incidents and getting some data out of it,” Flack said of the session.
“It’s a chance to have a feel of where the car is at on the track so you can make some adjustments and prepare for qualifying.”
