The Mustards men managed to pick up their first win over the Mungoes since the inaugural 2014 clash, coming away 26-12 winners.
Earlier in the night spectators enjoyed the first women’s game, where the Mungals’ tackle game was too good for the Custards squad in a 30-6 result.
Mustards man, and former Mungoes player Daniel Adamson said even though the games are a bit of post-season fun there were plenty of big hits and great action.
“I played Mungoes for the last two seasons and they always seemed to have the edge over the Mustards. It was interesting to see how much the Mustards had improved over those two years,” he said.
“There were some really big hits against some good mates and everyone was trying to show off for each other at one point.
“By the last 10 minutes everyone was rushing off the 10 metres trying to put on the biggest hits they could. It was great to watch.
“It was great to see the girls get involved since it was the first season that the Mustards had a women’s team. The girls were hitting harder than what we do.”
