Mrs Seymour, who became a Legacy Widow in 1974, relocated to Bathurst in 1997 and immediately joined the Bathurst Widows Club, where she said she was grateful for the friendship and warmth shown by the other Legacy Widows.
Mrs Seymour was elected to the president’s role in March 2001 and, according to Lithgow Legacy Division office manager Tracey Lewis, “has been a wonderful advocate for Legacy”.
“We would like to wish her well in her retirement and commend her for her continued and diligent representation of the ideals of the Legacy spirit,” Ms Lewis said.
Mrs Seymour stepped down from the role due to declining health.
Legacy cares for the widows and dependants of deceased or incapacitated veterans.
