“This year we are concentrating on the importance of eye health for pre-schoolers and schoolchildren,” Lions Club of Bathurst president Dominic Chircop said.
He said it had been a great success.
“We have been encouraging mums and dads to test young eyes before starting school and the staff at the library have been handing out magnifying bookmarks, bumper stickers and flyers, which were purchased and supplied by the Lions Club of Bathurst,” he said.
The library hosts Storytime, for ages three to five, from 10.30am-11am on Tuesdays during school term.
After School Club is held on Thursdays from 4-4.45pm for ages five to 12 years.
Each child has been offered the magnifying bookmarks, bumper stickers and flyers, Mr Chircop said.
“They have been well-received,” he said.
