The former Bathurst Panther and Oberon Tigers talent played 129 games for the Sea Eagles – including the 2011 grand final – during his NRL career and was popular with the Manly fans.
So when looking for players to pull on the maroon and white jumper for the unique tournament, Rose was a good fit.
He line up against other former NRL stars such as Wendell Sailor, Danny Buderus, Andrew Ryan and Nathan Hindmarsh to celebrate all things old school rugby league at the nines-format tournament.
“There is no other competition like it anywhere in the world,” Rose’s Manly team-mate Menzies said.
“The focus is on keeping fans and former legends involved in the game, even after retirement, and this tournament is the platform to maintain that link between Legends and their dedicated fans”.
